Nexans, a global player in the cable manufacturing industry, has signed agreements with several Moroccan government ministries and agencies for a significant investment project. The company plans to invest 100 million euros by 2026 to establish a third medium-voltage power cable plant in Morocco, complementing its existing facilities in Casablanca and Mohammedia.
According to Africa News Agency, This investment underscores Nexans’ commitment to the energy transition in Morocco and across the African continent. The project is expected to create over 200 direct jobs and will receive support from various Moroccan entities, including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, the National Office of Electricity and Potable Water (ONEE), and the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE). The new facility will embody Nexans’ standards of excellence, particularly in digitalization and innovation for sustainable energy resources, and will cater to cable demands across Africa.
