Luanda: The newly appointed ambassadors have successfully concluded their diplomatic training course in Luanda, an initiative organized by the VenSncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy (ADVM). This intensive program, which wrapped up on Wednesday, February 19, culminated in a certificate award ceremony where participants were briefed on a variety of subjects crucial to their new roles.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the training encompassed 11 comprehensive modules covering Angola’s Foreign Policy, International Relations and Cooperation, Economic and Cultural Diplomacy, Intelligence, Protocol and Ceremonial, as well as Conflict Management and Resolution. The program targeted diplomats stepping into the role of extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassadors for the first time. Among the trainees were Dalva Ringote Allen, Fernando Miguel, Maquento Sebastio Lopes, and Carlos Cruz de Lemos Sardinha Dias, who have been appointed as ambassadors to China, Vietnam, Egypt, and Cuba, respectively.
Cl¡udia Baptista, Minister Counselor and Deputy General Director for Training at ADVM, delivered the welcome message, underscoring the evolving dynamics of diplomatic activity. She emphasized that these challenges are best navigated through acquiring relevant knowledge.
Ambassador Jos© Marcos Barrica, the general director of ADVM, highlighted the significance of this milestone as a testament to the institution’s mission to train national staff. He pointed out that for Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassadors, the stakes are even higher, as they embody the extension of national power beyond borders.
The ceremony was attended by members of the ADVM board and leadership, including Ambassador Jos© Marcos Barrica, members of the MIREX board of directors, employees of the Academy’s Training Department, as well as trainers and trainees.
