OUAGADOUGOU — The newly appointed regional director of RTB2/North, Xavier Belemgnégré, has committed to exploring and enhancing the local potential in various sectors. Taking office on March 28, 2024, Belemgnégré has outlined a comprehensive plan to engage and develop the region’s resources.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Belemgnégré was officially inaugurated by RTB’s Secretary General, Grace Isabellita Foro, at the RTB2/Nord headquarters. In his inaugural address, Belemgnégré emphasized the significance of community involvement and the overarching goal of fostering peace and stability in the Northern region. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with local partners and the community to achieve these objectives, noting the need for shared commitment to overcome challenges and capitalize on the region’s potential.
Belemgnégré’s strategy includes promoting local culture and advancing endogenous development by engaging with various localities to identify and leverage their unique strengths. His vision for RTB2/North includes a robust outreach program to ensure comprehensive regional coverage and the integration of cultural values in the station’s programming.
Reflecting on the accomplishments of his predecessor, Joseph Bambara, Belemgnégré recognized the significant advancements made under Bambara’s leadership, particularly the revival of radio broadcasting in the region. Bambara’s tenure saw the expansion of RTB/Nord’s radio coverage, reaching beyond the Northern region’s four provinces since 2018.
In his concluding remarks, Belemgnégré called for continued support and collaboration from his colleagues and the community, aiming to sustain and build upon the foundation laid by his predecessor for the benefit of the Northern region.
