New Leadership for BBDA North Agency in Yatenga

OUAHIGOUYA — Ferdinand Ouédraogo was officially installed as the new head of the BBDA North agency in a ceremony held in Ouahigouya on Monday, July 22, 2024, marking a new chapter for cultural management in the Northern region of Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation follows the decision No. 2024-015/MCCAT/SG/BBDA of July 5, 2024, which also saw the creation of additional regional agencies in Fada and Gaoua. Ouédraogo expressed his gratitude to the BBDA leadership for their trust and committed to addressing the challenges of his role with dedication and collaboration with regional cultural actors. “I am aware of your expectations and I am committed to giving the best of myself to meet the challenges,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts for cultural promotion.

The ceremony was attended by parents, friends, collaborators, and cultural actors from the region, all showing their support for Ouédraogo. Hamed dit Patindeba Patrick Léga, the general director of the BBDA, praised the artistic contributions from the Northern region and reiterated the organization’s commitment to supporting its new regional head. The BBDA plays a crucial role in managing rights and ensuring fair compensation for artists and related personnel across the country.
