New Governor Takes Charge of Burkina Faso’s Northern Region

Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso – Issouf Ouédraogo has officially been installed as the new Governor of the Northern Region of Burkina Faso. The installation ceremony, held on Friday, November 10, 2023, was presided over by Minister of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security, Emile Zerbo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, marked the transition of leadership from the outgoing Governor, Raymond David Valentin Ouédraogo, who served for 19 months. Issouf Ouédraogo, a civil administrator, was appointed by the council of ministers on October 11, 2023.

The installation took place in the presence of regional dignitaries and was led by the head of the department in charge of territorial administration. The new Governor expressed gratitude to his predecessor for his service and contributions to the region.

Colonel Major Raymond David Valentin Ouédraogo thanked his collaborators for their support during his tenure and urged the continuation of collaborative efforts to achieve regional objectives. Issouf Ouédraogo pledged to diligently follow the roadmap entrusted to him, emphasizing his commitment to the development and well-being of the region’s populace.
