New Evidence Unveiled in Ukraine’s Alleged War Crimes in Kursk Region

Moscow: Russia's Investigative Committee has received new evidence of alleged war crimes committed by Ukrainian forces in the Sudzha district of Russia's Kursk Region, as witnesses have reported the death of four individuals. Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko shared these developments with RIA Novosti.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the investigation continues to gather testimonies from citizens affected by the purported crimes of Ukrainian armed formations. Investigators are focusing on reports of violence by Ukrainian nationalists, including the murders of civilians and Russian servicemen in areas previously occupied by Ukrainian forces.

The inquiry has revealed that an individual in the village of Zaoleshenka was allegedly killed by a Ukrainian soldier in August 2024 while cycling. Additionally, a resident from Kazachya Loknya reported witnessing the torture and murder of a Russian soldier by Ukrainian troops on August 21, 2024. In another incident in the same village, Ukrainian soldiers reportedly shot a local resident's husband in the back on August 7 as he headed to a grocery store.

Further, on January 19, 2025, a woman was reportedly killed when a shell, allegedly dropped by Ukrainian forces, struck a house in Sudzha.

The investigation aims to uncover the full circumstances surrounding these incidents and ensure that those responsible are held accountable, Petrenko mentioned.
