Ouagadougou – In a ceremony held in Ouagadougou, Djourmité Nestor Noufé has been officially installed as the new director general of the Public Interest Group national volunteer program in Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB). Noufé committed to leading the program with dedication and an openness to collaboration.

According to Burkina Information Agency, his appointment brings significant responsibilities and challenges, which he acknowledges with a sense of apprehension due to the demanding nature of the role. “I realize the immensity of the burden that now falls to me. This is why I approach this responsibility with a lot of apprehension, given the scale of the challenges to be met,” he stated during his inauguration. He emphasized his commitment to implementing the national volunteering policy and called for support from both supervisory authorities and partners.

Noufé, holding two professional master’s degrees in communication (development option) and management of development projects and programs, alongside several certifications in strategic and operational management, advocacy, social dialogue, and fundraising, has a rich background in various significant roles. His career includes positions such as head of the written press and personnel administration office at the Ministry of Defense, head of the women’s rights and children’s rights unit at the UN/MINUSMA, and director roles at the National Agency for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (ANERE). Prior to this new role, he was the director of communications and public relations at the Presidency of Faso.

Noufé also highlighted the importance of teamwork and collective effort in achieving the goals of the volunteer program. “But, I admit with all humility that alone, I will not succeed,” he confided. He reached out for the continued cooperation of his team and stakeholders, stressing that success depends on a synergistic approach.
