Ouagadougou: The Network of Journalists for Civil Protection (RJPC) organized a female cancer screening campaign for women in the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) from May 21 to 23, 2025, in Ouagadougou, AIB learned on Friday. "This initiative aims to express our gratitude to the women of the FDS for all the services they provide daily for the well-being of citizens," said the president of the network of journalists for civil protection, Achille Rabasboudou Konkobo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this campaign is welcome because FDS women are invested in the security situation to the point of forgetting themselves. "A nation cannot be built without women. They are the bearers of humanity, and their reproductive health is important to the nation," he stressed. Mr. Konkobo also urged all women to take care of their sexual and reproductive health, warning, "In the face of cancer, silence is deadly."
Achille Rabasboudou Konkobo, president of the Network of Journalists for Civil Protection, spoke this Friday at the closing of the female cancer screening campaign for around a hundred women in the FDS (Department of Social Services). "Early screening allows for the definitive treatment and cure of uterine lesions and the detection of breast changes for prompt care," said Armand Zagr©, gynecologist at Yalgado Ou©draogo University Hospital. He praised the network's initiative, which enabled the mobile clinic to reach women through this women's cancer screening campaign.
Dr. Zagr© also urged women to undergo various pre-cancer screenings. According to assistant security volunteer Sidonie Sawadogo, "screening for various cancers is very important. This opportunity will allow us to take stock of our health status to be more effective in our various roles." Ms. Sawadogo welcomed the initiative of the Journalists' Network for Civil Protection towards them. "I invite all women to get screened because cancer is a reality," she added.
