Netherlands Unveils 175 Million Euros Military Aid Package for Ukraine

The Hague: Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans on Tuesday announced a new military aid package worth 175 million euros (203 million U.S. dollars) for Ukraine. The package includes radar systems, unmanned vehicles, and drones, along with contracts with Ukrainian companies to manufacture drones.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the announcement coincided with the opening of NATO's annual summit in The Hague. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in The Hague on Tuesday and met with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. The discussions focused on strengthening defense cooperation between the Netherlands and Ukraine amidst ongoing regional tensions.

The Netherlands' commitment to support Ukraine with advanced military technology is seen as a strategic move to enhance the country's defense capabilities. The inclusion of contracts with Ukrainian companies for drone manufacturing also highlights an effort to boost Ukraine's domestic defense industry.

As the summit continues, further discussions on defense collaboration and support for Ukraine are expected to be key topics among NATO members. The aid package reflects broader international efforts to support Ukraine in its ongoing conflict and security challenges.
