According to Namibia Press Agency, Tromp took on the role on March 1, 2026, and will manage the bank's consumer banking portfolio, which includes services such as private banking, private wealth, retail banking, and lending. In a statement released on Monday, the bank highlighted that this appointment is a key part of its strategy to bolster leadership within its retail banking operations and improve service delivery to a wide customer base. The bank emphasized the crucial role of consumer banking in assisting individuals with managing daily financial needs, which encompass saving, borrowing, spending, and future planning. Tromp's previous role as Head of Business Banking at Nedbank Namibia provided him with significant insights into the relationship between household financial stability and b roader economic performance.
