OUAGADOUGOU—A recent poll indicates that nearly 70% of Americans believe that President Joe Biden, 81, is too old to effectively carry out his duties as head of state. Additionally, 45% of the population considers his age to be a serious issue that renders him incapable of exercising power.

According to Burkina Information Agency, organized by The New York Times in conjunction with the Siena College research institute, if the presidential election were held today, 48% of voters would choose Republican Donald Trump, 78, over Joe Biden, who would receive 42% of the votes. The survey was conducted from June 20 to 25, with 1,125 citizens participating and a margin of error of 3%.

The next US presidential election is scheduled for November. On April 25, 2023, Joe Biden announced his intention to seek re-election, while his predecessor Donald Trump declared his candidacy in November 2022.
