KOMBISSIRI — Nearly 200 bags of blood were collected during a blood donation drive organized alongside the annual pedagogical conference for teachers in the Bazèga province, held from September 10 to 13, 2024, in collaboration with the Regional Blood Transfusion Center (CRTS) of Ouagadougou.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Primary, and Non-Formal Education, Claude Ouédraogo, the initiative was driven by the increased demand for blood, particularly during the rainy season when diseases like malaria pose significant health risks. Teachers from across the province participated in the drive at three sites, with strong mobilization recorded in Kombissiri and Saponé. Diakalia Traoré of the CRTS praised the effort, noting its vital contribution to maintaining blood supplies for patients in hospitals nationwide.
