Ndeitunga and Nelumbu Encourage Namibians to Vote in Elections

Windhoek: Former Ohangwena Regional Governor, Sebastian Ndeitunga, and the leader of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority, Queen Martha Mwadinomho yaKristian Nelumbu, have urged citizens to participate in the ongoing Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, delivering their messages while casting their ballots at the Omhedi Palace polling station.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Ndeitunga emphasized that voting remains the core expression of the people's will in a democratic society. He stated that through voting, citizens determine how they want to be governed and who should represent their interests. He highlighted that elected leaders must uphold the Constitution, protect human rights and freedoms, and ensure socio-economic development. He further noted that regular elections strengthen Namibia's standing as a progressive nation that respects the aspirations of its citizens.

Nelumbu echoed the call for voter participation, linking it to the prosperity of her governance and improved service delivery. She said that voting unites communities and supports the central government's efforts to bring services closer to the people. She expressed her own commitment to the electoral process by stating, 'I do not normally go out in public, but I came out today to vote. This should encourage everyone.'
