Nayala/Road Safety: Stakeholders Urge the Public to Adopt Responsible Behaviors to Save Lives

Nayala: The city of Toma hosted, on April 11, 2026, the second edition of the road safety awareness campaign, initiated by the Association for Socio-Economic and Cultural Development (ADSEC), in collaboration with the National Road Safety Office (ONASER).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of ADSEC, Toe Herman, indicated that this activity aims to strengthen the capacities of road users and promote responsible behavior. He emphasized that road insecurity is a major problem, with significant human, social, and economic consequences, hence the need for collective action.

'The road must not be a place of tragedy,' declared Honore Frederic Pare, High Commissioner of Nayala Province. He noted that traffic accidents are a major concern, largely linked to human behavior. The High Commissioner urged the population, especially young people, to strictly observe traffic rules, to exercise caution and to systematically wear helmets.

The representative of the central police commissioner of Toma emphasized the importance of respecting the highway code and the mandatory wearing of helmets. He reminded the public that the majority of accidents involve two-wheeled vehicles and often result in serious injuries, particularly to the head. He called on the public to adopt responsible behaviors, while reaffirming the police's commitment to supporting awareness campaigns.

The director of the Africa Auto-Ecole driving school, Tapsoba Ga«lle Junior, welcomed the initiative, which he considers a strong action in favor of protecting human lives. He urged those involved in the field to redouble their efforts in raising awareness, believing that everyone has a role to play in preventing accidents.

Through questions and games, students and participants received helmets, t-shirts, and caps. This campaign raised awareness among participants about best practices in road safety through discussions and educational activities.
