Nayala: As part of the celebration of the second phase of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, the Provincial Directorate of the National Police (DPPN) of Nayala organized, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, an awareness evening on road safety in Toma.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of the Nayala National Police, Police Inspector Abdoul Rasmane Ganam, mobilized police officers supported by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) to raise awareness among the population about wearing helmets and seat belts. The city’s various intersections have been taken over by law enforcement to remind users of the importance of wearing helmets, seat belts and respecting speed limits.
“In the event of a repeat offense, the sanction is applied without difficulty,” said police inspector Abdoul Rasmane Ganam, emphasizing the police’s educational approach before any coercive action. This caring approach was welcomed by the population. Several citizens expressed their satisfaction and their willingness to change their behavior.
“I bought my motorcycle without a helmet a long time ago, but I’m going to get one for my own safety,” said one motorcyclist who wished to remain anonymous. A driver added: “I wasn’t used to wearing my seat belt, but today I realized the danger.”
The provincial directorate of the Nayala National Police intends to continue these local actions to strengthen road civic awareness and reduce road accidents in the province.
