Nayala: Culture and Resilience Celebrated Through the Wa K¨b´l´ Festival

Nayala: The association of musicians and slam artists of Nayala inaugurated on Saturday in Toma, the first edition of the Wa Kªb´l´ festival (FESWANA), under the theme "culture, a factor of resilience." Scheduled for May 24 and 25, 2025, in Toma, FESWANA aims to promote cultural values and encourage the creativity of artists.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the festival began with a popular cross-country race attracting an enthusiastic crowd. During this race, the festival-goers, who turned out in large numbers, expressed their support for the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, through revolutionary slogans.

The festival's patron, Commander Koswend© Ousseni Zida, satisfied with the mobilization, emphasized the importance of culture as a vector of cohesion and resilience. The representative of the Minister of Culture, Dr. Jean No«l Bonkoungou, for his part, welcomed the initiative, stating that culture is essential to strengthening unity and solidarity within the population.

The various speakers highlighted the importance of collective commitment to building a united and resilient Burkina Faso. The first edition of the Wa Kªb´l´ festival succeeded in bringing people together around culture, providing a space for expression and celebration of collective identity.

This event was an opportunity to award trophies to artists in different song categories. Sick-sack emerged as the winner of the 2025 Wa Kªb´l´ d'or. The populations were served by various artistic performances, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
