National Reconciliation Day Celebrations to Commence in Menongue


Menongue: The central event of the Peace and National Reconciliation Day celebrations is set to take place in Menongue, Cubango province. The event, scheduled for April 4th, will be led by the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Dion­sio Manuel da Fonseca. He will be representing the Head of State, Joo Louren§o, during the proceedings.



According to Angola Press News Agency, the celebration will run under the theme ‘For the Economic Development and Well-Being of Angolans, Together Hand in Hand’. The festivities will begin on April 3rd, featuring various activities in Menongue. Notably, these include the distribution of cholera kits and the inauguration of an oxygen factory at the Cubango General Hospital.



The Minister of State and Chief of Staff is also scheduled to meet with the Provincial Government of Cubango. This meeting aims to assess the progress of the new Political-Administrative Division, among other agenda points.



The official delegation will comprise the Minister of Territorial Administration, Daniel F©lix Neto, alongside members of the Executive, political party representatives with parliamentary seats, Defense and Security bodies, and the Angolan Federation of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland.



This date holds significant historical importance, commemorating the 24th anniversary of Peace and National Reconciliation Day. The event seeks to foster values such as fraternity, reconciliation, solidarity, social justice, national unity, tolerance, patriotism, and respect for national symbols.
