National Police Record Six Border Violation Cases Over Weekend in Uíge

Uíge: At least six cases of violation of the national border, which resulted in the detention of seven citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were recorded over the weekend in the province of Uíge, northern Angola, by the Border Guard Police. The spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Uíge, Chief Superintendent Freitas Zama, released this data on Monday when presenting the weekend's report. According to Angola Press News Agency, Freitas Zama stated that the detained citizens were between the ages of 26 and 52. The border violation cases occurred at the border guard posts of Kimbata (Maquela do Zombo) and Kituma (Quimbele). The spokesperson clarified that the violations were classified as thwarted attempts at illegal entry and exits, accompanied by fuel smuggling. The officer further explained that, during the same period, the National Police recorded four deaths and two injuries as a result of four traffic accidents.
