Sono: The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Sono, Augustin Bassol©, presided over a flag-raising ceremony as part of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC). This event marked a significant step in fostering national identity and civic engagement among the residents of Sono.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by traditional and religious authorities, along with Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS). The President of the Special Delegation, Augustin Bassol©, conveyed a message from the President of Burkina Faso, highlighting the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP). The RPP aims to promote endogenous development through active local participation, emphasizing the importance of discipline and order.
Bassol© also reminded owners of 12-gauge shotguns to adhere to regulations by securing the necessary documentation. In conjunction with this civic initiative, a team from the National Identification Office (ONI) was present to issue identity cards to the local population. The village chief, Drissa Zouon, expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, acknowledging the PDS's dedication to enhancing community welfare.
The ONI team leaders noted the strong resident turnout and were pleased with the enthusiasm surrounding the identity card issuance operation, which underscores the growing civic engagement within the community.
