National Identification Office to Assist Baccalaureate Candidates in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou — The National Identification Office (ONI) is set to issue emergency CNIBs (National Identity Cards) to baccalaureate candidates who have lost theirs, ensuring they can participate in the upcoming exams without disruption. This initiative was announced following concerns about candidates potentially being unable to sit for their exams due to lost identification.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on the Ministry of National Education’s Facebook page late Wednesday night, the ONI is facilitating an on-site service for candidates to obtain new CNIBs. Candidates are required to present a birth certificate and proof of candidacy, such as a school certificate or CIS, at the regional ONI office. The baccalaureate exams are scheduled to begin on June 18, 2024, in Burkina Faso.
