National Fire Brigade Welcomes 500 New Graduates from Initial Military Training in Bobo-Dioulasso

BOBO-DIOULASSO – The National Fire Brigade (BNSP) celebrated the graduation of 500 personnel from their Initial Military Training (FMI) at the Armed Forces Training Group (GIFA) facility in Bobo-Dioulasso. The official flag presentation ceremony was held at Camp OuĂ©zzin Coulibaly on the morning of Friday, July 5, 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the commander of GIFA, the training program was divided into three phases: adaptation, hardening, and consolidation of knowledge. The trainees, including 37 women, with ages averaging 22 years and educational backgrounds ranging from 4th grade to university level, completed the six-month training. They participated in military and sports physical training, shooting instruction, and courses on weaponry and improvised explosive devices. “These young people achieved with honor and dignity the objectives of the training which consisted of instilling in them a military spirit and making them fighters,” stated Bambara. He also encouraged the new soldiers to continue their efforts and discipline to face upcoming challenges and thanked everyone involved in the training process.

The ceremony featured demonstrations of the skills acquired by the graduates and a military parade. The newly trained personnel will now proceed to the National Firefighters School (ENASAP) for specialized firefighting training.
