Received Monday at the department’s headquarters by Minister of National Defence, Imed Memiche, new US ambassador, Joey Hood, highly praised the high level of military cooperation established between his country and Tunisia.

Quoted in a statement by the Department of Defense, the U.S. ambassador also reaffirmed the commitment to continue to promote bilateral cooperation, stressing the importance of the long-standing military partnership between his country and Tunisia and its key role in establishing stability and security in the region.

For his part, the Minister of National Defence highlighted the historical relations binding the two friendly countries as well as the level of cooperation achieved by the two parties.

He called for its further promotion for the benefit of both parties, within the framework of mutual trust and respect.
