Rabat: As part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation, Burkinabe citizens in the Kingdom of Morocco proudly wore their Faso Danfani and Koko Donda, traditional Burkinabe outfits, and consumed local dishes. This Saturday morning, an aerobics session took place at Ibn Sina Park in Rabat, AIB noted.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2nd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation was launched by the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Kingdom of Morocco, Mamadou Coulibaly. This initiative, responding to the call of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, aims to engage Burkinabe citizens living in Morocco through various activities.
The activities included the wearing of traditional outfits and the consumption of Burkinabe dishes, culminating in an aerobics session on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Burkinabe individuals across the Kingdom actively participated in these events, proudly displaying their cultural attire and culinary traditions.
The appeal by President Ibrahim Traor©, as highlighted by Ambassador Mamadou Coulibaly, was embraced throughout Moroccan regions, universities, and vocational training centers where the Burkinabe community resides.
The aerobics session, organized by the Ambassador in collaboration with the High Council of Burkinabe Abroad, the Association of Burkinabe Students and Trainees in Morocco, and the Association of Burkinabe Workers in the Kingdom of Morocco, took place in Rabat’s Ibn Sina Park. It gathered the diplomatic mission, Burkinabe community members, and Burkinabe students and trainees for a session led by the military mission, consisting of warm-up exercises, physical endurance training, and stretching.
Ambassador Mamadou Coulibaly concluded the activity with a message of encouragement and congratulations to all participants, emphasizing the importance of such sporting activities in maintaining good health and promoting productivity at work.
Further activities planned by the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Morocco include a Cleanliness Day at the diplomatic mission’s workplaces on Monday, April 7, a Day of Reflection, and a Public Conference on the theme “For order and discipline: I commit myself,” scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, and Saturday, April 12, respectively.
In a message initiating the National Days, President Captain Ibrahim Traor©, through Prime Minister, invited the Burkinabe on March 26 to celebrate these days by adopting gestures that reflect discipline and orderliness. He called on citizens to embrace good practices from both their traditions and those of other peoples to foster a responsible and disciplined society in Burkina Faso.
