L©raba: The High Commissioner of L©raba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, presided over the national flag-raising ceremony in Sindou on Thursday, March 5, 2026. He urged the province's leading figures to demonstrate their pride in serving the nation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the rotating national flag-raising ceremony was established in 2022 in L©raba Province with the aim of strengthening patriotism and civic responsibility, centered on respect for state symbols. This initiative, launched by the highest authorities in the country, is held monthly throughout the nation.
In L©raba province, the ceremony was previously held on the first Thursday of each month, rotating among the various departments or representatives of public institutions. To further instill a spirit of patriotic commitment across the entire province, the ceremony is scheduled to move to a different department every two months.
The High Commissioner of L©raba Province, Yacouba Sawadogo, has urged each provincial director and head of services to schedule these events now. Following the visit to Sindou, the next stop will be the department of Dakoro, located 30 km south of Sindou on the border with C´te d'Ivoire, on Thursday, April 2nd.
Mr. Sawadogo stated that this visit to Dakoro will be used to provide an opportunity to visit and encourage the public institutions and officials located there, as well as to hold a direct exchange with key stakeholders in the department on the issue of local development and to raise awareness of the ideals of the progressive popular revolution. "I urge you to let your pride in serving our Nation and building it with your own sweat blossom within you," Yacouba Sawadogo declared to the province's key stakeholders.
The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Dakoro municipality, Daniel S©b©go, promised to successfully organize the next stop on April 2nd, 2026.
