Luanda: The National Assembly will convene this Thursday for the 7th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 4th Legislative Session of the V Legislature, focusing on several significant legislative proposals, including the new Personal Income Tax Code (IRPS). According to Angola Press News Agency, the proposed Personal Income Tax Code is part of ongoing tax reforms aimed at updating and strengthening the individual income taxation regime in Angola. Members of Parliament (MPs) are set to discuss and vote on this critical legislation, alongside other key proposals. In addition to tax reforms, the agenda includes the Startups Law Proposal and the Legal Regime of the Beneficial Owner. These proposals are expected to play a substantial role in shaping Angola's economic and legal landscape. Furthermore, the Basic Law Proposal for the National Health System will be discussed, which seeks to outline the foundational principles for the organization and functionality of Angola's health system. The MPs will also address the Bill on the Comprehensive Response to the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This legislation aims to bolster public policies for the prevention, treatment, and combat of HIV in the country, reflecting Angola's commitment to addressing public health challenges. Internationally, the plenary will deliberate on three draft resolutions. One of these includes the Draft Resolution for Angola's accession to the African Export Development Fund, which is designed to support the financing and promotion of exports across the continent. Another key item is the Draft Resolution for Angola's accession to an Intergovernmental Memorandum of Agreement with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for establishing a regional Humanitarian Operations and Emergency Response Center. Additionally, the Assembly will consider the Draft Resolution for the ratification of a Cooperation Agreement in the field of defense between the Government of the Republic of Angola and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. These i nternational agreements underscore Angola's strategic efforts to enhance its regional and international partnerships.
