Narok County’s Bold Leap in Infrastructure Revamps Connectivity

Narok: Narok County has taken a significant step in improving its infrastructure with an ambitious road construction and maintenance project aimed at enhancing the movement of people and goods within the region. The initiative includes opening new roads, constructing crucial link roads, and upgrading existing ones, ensuring access to even the most remote villages. According to Kenya News Agency, Governor Patrick Ntutu, speaking at Ilkerin Girls Secondary School during the commissioning of a newly graded and murram road in Ilkerin Centre, emphasized the importance of these projects. He underlined the difficulties faced by rural communities in accessing local markets and essential services due to poor road infrastructure. Governor Ntutu highlighted the construction of footbridges as a major advancement, providing safe passage for residents and livestock, particularly during heavy rains when rivers overflow. "These bridges and new link roads have streamlined transportation, cutting travel time and making it e asier for locals to bring their agricultural produce to the urban markets, fueling the county's economy," he noted. Further, Governor Ntutu reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing grassroots communities that have historically been overlooked in Narok's development plans. "By improving these roads, we are not just meeting immediate needs, but setting the stage for long-term growth and prosperity," he added.
