NAPWU and NTB Sign Wage Agreement for 2025/26

Windhoek: The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) and the Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) on Wednesday signed a wage agreement for a salary increase for NTB employees for the 2025/26 financial year. The key highlights of the agreement include an inclusive adjustment of 4.25 per cent for all members of the bargaining unit, excluding executive managers.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a performance reward was also concluded which includes an across-the-board performance reward to be implemented within the financial year, on or before March 2026. Signing on behalf of NTB, Chief Executive Officer Sebulon Chicalu described the agreement as the board’s appreciation for the employees’ work input.

‘This agreement is a demonstration of NTB’s commitment to valuing our employees as key contributors to Namibia’s tourism mandate. We are proud to have reached a consensus that recognises their dedication, while also ensuring organisational sustainability,’ he said.

Sem Shilongo, a representative of NAPWU, welcomed the outcome on behalf of the employees, citing it as a confidence and commitment booster towards the employees. ‘We are pleased with the constructive approach taken by NTB. This agreement not only secures improved wages but also enhances the confidence of workers in the organisation’s leadership and commitment to their welfare,’ Shilongo stated.
