Nando: Patriotic Fervor at the Heart of the First Flag-Raising Ceremony of 2026

Nando: Governor of Nando, Adama Jean-Yves Bere, presided over the first official flag-raising ceremony of the year on Monday on the esplanade of the governorate, AIB observed. This act brought together representatives of various institutions, community leaders, and regional administration officials, all unified to reaffirm their commitment to republican values.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in a solemn address, the governor recalled that this gesture aligns with the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore. He emphasized that flying the flag with dignity is not merely a formality, but a daily commitment. For the regional authority, every citizen must champion behavior where discipline, integrity, and a sense of the common good take precedence over individual considerations.

Reviewing the past year, Mr. Bere commended the progress made in 2025. However, he cautioned against any form of complacency. The watchword for 2026 is to maintain total mobilization and unity to carry out the economic and social development projects initiated by the highest authorities in the country.

The second highlight of the morning was dedicated to celebrating administrative excellence. Police Lieutenant Oumarou Savadogo, Head of the regional branch of the National Identification Office (ONI), officially presented the award for best national performance won by his branch on December 30th. With a 123.23% achievement rate (out of a target of 135,000 national identity cards), the Nando branch stands out as a model of efficiency. In recognition of the support received, certificates of merit were presented to the governor and the regional director of the National Police.

This ceremony, combining protocol and honorary distinction, officially launches the activities for 2026, under the banner of civic engagement and performance in service to the people of Nando.
