Walvis bay: President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has expressed deep sadness following the death of John Savva, a respected Walvis Bay businessman and Honorary Consul for Cyprus and Greece. In a message of condolence issued by the Presidency, President Nandi-Ndaitwah extended heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the Government and people of Namibia, the Swapo Party, and herself to the Savva family, as well as to the Cypriot and Greek communities.

According to Namibia Press Agency, 'Mr Savva was a pillar of the Walvis Bay business community and a man who contributed immensely to the economic and social development of the Erongo Region. Through his enterprises and civic efforts, he helped create jobs, supported community initiatives, and strengthened Namibia's ties with international partners,' the statement read.

Nandi-Ndaitwah further described Savva as a long-standing friend of the Swapo Party, who believed in Namibia's journey of independence, unity, and progress. 'His consistent support and collaboration reflected his deep respect for the ideals of nation-building and solidarity that continue to guide our Party,' she said.

Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that Namibia has lost a loyal son and bridge-builder, whose legacy of hard work, humility, and service will be remembered for generations. 'May his family find comfort in the knowledge that his life made a lasting difference, and may his soul rest in eternal peace,' the statement added.
