Nandi Ndaitwah Appoints Ambassador Mboti as APRM CEO

Windhoek: President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Ambassador Lineekela Josephat Mboti as Namibia's Focal Point and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), effective 01 September.

According to Namibia Press Agency, in a statement by the Presidency on Thursday, Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed confidence in Mboti's ability to strengthen Namibia's engagement with the APRM and advance the country's governance agenda.

'Ambassador Mboti brings a wealth of experience in international relations, diplomacy and governance having led the APRM Namibia Chapter from April 2019, where he successfully coordinated Namibia's first Country Review Report and the Targeted Review on Youth Unemployment,' she said.

Mboti served in several senior diplomatic positions, including Deputy Executive Director for Multilateral Relations and Cooperation at the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation between 2015 and 2019. From 2010 to 2014, he was Namibia's Ambassador to Brazil with concurrent accreditation to nine South American nations, and from 2003 to 2010, Ambassador to Angola.

'A career diplomat since 1990, Mboti holds a master's degree in Diplomatic and Strategic Studies (Magna Cum Laude) from the International University in Vienna. In 2024, he was awarded the Grand Officer of the Most Distinguished Order of Namibia, Second Class, in recognition of his service to the country,' she said.
