NamWater Announces Water Supply Interruptions Due to Pipe Breaks in Northern Region

Ogongo: NamWater has announced a series of water supply interruptions impacting several areas between Ogongo and Oshakati due to multiple major pipe breaks. The disruptions, which began on Sunday, are affecting numerous stakeholders and customers who rely on the Ogongo-Oshakati pipeline.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Hieronymus Goraseb, the Head of NamWater’s North-East Business Unit, reported that the affected areas include Elim, Elim South, Oshikuku­ Omungwelume, Makanda Offtake, Ongungila Offtake, Okamwandi, the Ogongo-Oshakati pipeline, Oshikuku, Oshakati, and Omungwelume Village. Goraseb stated, “Our technical teams are onsite fixing and repairing the pipeline to restore normal water supply.” He further noted that essential services such as hospitals, schools, and clinics experiencing critical water needs should contact their office to arrange possible water delivery via tankers.
