Omuthiya—The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) is calling on taxpayers to report companies failing to comply with tax obligations to enable investigations and enforcement actions.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Simson Shivolo, a facilitator at NamRA, addressed this appeal during the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) stakeholder meeting held in Omuthiya on Wednesday. The issue was raised following concerns expressed by Priscilla Lyakwata, the Deputy Director of the Planning Division at the Oshikoto Regional Council, about foreign nationals operating businesses in Namibia without adhering to tax regulations.

Shivolo emphasized the importance of accurate reporting, cautioning against making false allegations as tax matters are confidential. He also highlighted the utility of the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS), which he described as a self-serviced facility that operates around the clock and enhances service delivery by providing convenience and accessibility to taxpayers.

Further, Shivolo encouraged the community to fulfill their tax obligations, noting the crucial role that tax revenue plays in supporting government efforts in social development and infrastructure projects. The meeting aimed to bolster the relationship between SMEs and NamRA by underscoring the importance of taxpayer compliance and providing support to improve business operations.
