NamPost Expands Digital Banking Services with New App and Internet Platform

WINDHOEK: Namibia Post Limited (NamPost) has launched the MyNamPost Banking App and Internet Banking platforms, offering customers enhanced access to financial services through digital channels. The initiative is part of NamPost’s ongoing efforts to support financial inclusion and economic development in Namibia. Minister of Information and Communication Technology Emma Theofelus highlighted the importance of digital literacy in tandem with these technological advancements, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting inclusive financial solutions.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Minister Theofelus emphasized that platforms like the MyNamPost Banking App are pivotal for financial inclusion, yet stressed the necessity of ensuring all Namibians possess the digital skills required to utilize such services effectively. She praised NamPost’s contribution to the nation’s digital transformation strategy and noted that its service fees remain competitively low, thus enhancing accessibility to essential
financial services. The minister pointed out that NamPost’s extensive network of post offices, along with its logistical and IT infrastructure, positions the organization as a key player in the country’s digital development.

Festus Hangula, Chief Executive Officer of NamPost, remarked that the launch of the new app and internet banking services represents more than just technological advancement; it reflects NamPost’s dedication to making modern financial services available to all Namibians. Hangula articulated that these digital tools empower customers by providing them with greater control over their finances, emphasizing that the services are designed to be simple, affordable, and convenient. He noted the particular importance of these services for savings bank account holders, who require easy access to their funds for transactions, bill payments, and money transfers.

Hangula also recalled that NamPost was a pioneer in introducing biometric verification back in 2006, a feature that has only recently bec
ome a topic of discussion among other financial institutions in the region. With the launch of the MyNamPost App, customers can now perform electronic funds transfers, check account balances, and make payments seamlessly, thus enhancing their banking experience in a digital environment.
