NamPol Elevates Two Officers to Station Commanders in Oshikoto Region

OSHAKATI— The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) has announced significant promotions within its ranks in the Oshikoto Region, appointing two officers as new station commanders. This move comes as part of a broader initiative to enhance community policing and service excellence in the area.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Oshikoto Regional Commander, Warrant Officer Kefas Kamati and Inspector Heinz Nakashani have been promoted to lead the Onethindi and Omuthiya police stations, respectively. Kamati will now serve as an Inspector, while Nakashani has been elevated to Chief Inspector.

Commissioner Nashikaku emphasized the commitment of NamPol to recognize and uplift dedicated personnel. These promotions were endorsed by Inspector General Joseph Shikongo, highlighting the organization’s support for its members’ advancement based on their service records.

In addition to these appointments, Nashikaku outlined ongoing efforts to bring police services closer to the communities they serve. Recent initiatives include collaborations with traditional authorities and proactive community outreach. For instance, the police recently engaged with residents of Ohaiyanda village in the Eengodi Constituency, demonstrating NamPol’s strategy to make their services more accessible to the public.

Nashikaku also reinforced the importance of adherence to the strategic pillars of excellence within the force, urging officers to maintain high professional standards in conduct and responsiveness to public complaints.
