Windhoek, Namibia – Vice President Nangolo Mbumba of Namibia urged citizens to extend their Christmas spirit to the less fortunate, including the elderly and children, in his Christmas message. In a statement issued by the Presidency, Mbumba reflected on the irony of Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, being amidst war this year, limiting visits from Christians during the festive season.
According to Namibia Press Agency, He called for those involved in conflicts to uphold human rights, love for mankind, and justice, spreading a message of peace worldwide. The Vice President acknowledged the dedication of Namibia’s healthcare workers, police, defense force, and intelligence service in ensuring the nation’s safety and well-being during the holidays. Mbumba emphasized the importance of responsible behavior, highlighting the need to avoid alcohol abuse, gender-based violence, and to abide by road regulations to prevent accidents and fatalities.
