Namibia’s MICT Releases Official Presidential Portrait of Nangolo Mbumba

WINDHOEK, Namibia — The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) unveiled the official presidential portrait of Nangolo Mbumba, Namibia’s fourth President, on Wednesday. This portrait replaces the one of the late President Hage Geingob and will be displayed in public and private entities throughout the country.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the new portrait signifies the transition in leadership following President Geingob’s death in February 2024 due to cancer. Mathe highlighted that Mbumba’s portrait will be displayed alongside that of Sam Nujoma, the nation’s founding President. “This portrait represents not just the individual in the highest office but also the aspirations, values, and collective hopes of our nation,” Mathe stated during the unveiling.

The Namibia Press Agency has been appointed as the exclusive producer and distributor of the new portrait. Available in A2 size, the portraits are priced at N.dollars 1800 for framed versions and N.dollars 500 for unframed ones. They can be purchased at the ministry’s regional offices across Namibia.

Additionally, Mathe mentioned that soft copy portraits of Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah are available upon request, providing further accessibility to official governmental imagery.
