OMAKUVA, ONESI CONSTITUENCY — The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Omusati Region is actively searching for a man accused of raping his 17-year-old niece. The alleged incident occurred on the evening of June 29, 2024, at Omakuva village but was reported to the authorities only recently.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Omusati Region’s NamPol commander, the suspect reportedly entered the room where his niece was sleeping, restrained her, and committed the act of rape. Following the incident, the suspect is believed to have fled to Otjiwarongo. Basson disclosed that the police have opened a case of rape in conjunction with domestic violence laws and are continuing their investigation to apprehend the suspect.

The police urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation and ensure justice for the victim.
