EENHANA — Minister in the Presidency Christine ||Hoebes reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting farmers, households, and livestock across Namibia during the opening of the 14th Eenhana Trade and Business Expo on Wednesday. She emphasized the government’s dedication to assisting those in need and urged regional officials to deliver this aid with empathy and promptness.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the expo plays a critical role in the socioeconomic development of Namibia, boosting the national economy by attracting a diverse range of exhibitors and participants from within the country and beyond. This convergence fosters economic growth and collaboration, essential for the country’s development.

Town Mayor Omri-Onn Kavandje highlighted the impact of the global economic crisis on local businesses, noting that the expo aims to empower residents and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by exposing them to new business strategies. These strategies include networking, sharing information, innovating, diversifying, and forming new partnerships, all of which provide direct access to potential customers and sales leads.

The Eenhana Expo is integral to the town’s strategic plan for economic growth, aligning with national development initiatives such as Vision 2030, NDP-5/6, and the Harambee Prosperity Plan 2. Expo main sponsor Ali Dharani of the Rani Group of Companies expressed their commitment to building the local economy through partnerships. Dharani noted that his company supports the national economy by employing over 5,000 individuals across 12 regions and operating more than 60 retail outlets. Specifically, in the Ohangwena Region, the company has created 350 jobs and is considering further expansion that could lead to an additional 100 jobs with a N.dollars 20 million investment.

The Eenhana Expo, under the theme ‘Reviving Local Economy through Business Resilience, Innovation, and Diversification,’ aims to highlight and support the resilience and growth of local businesses. It is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.
