Namibian Firm Strikes N$9 Million Deal with Indonesia’s Mensa Group to Import Pharmaceutical Products

BALI — Future Image Investment CC, a Namibian company, has forged a N$9 million business partnership with Indonesia’s Mensa Group to introduce Indonesian pharmaceutical products to the Namibian market. The agreement was signed in Bali during the second Indonesia-Africa Forum, which concluded on Tuesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, speaking to Nampa, this agreement marks a significant milestone for Namibia. “Indonesia is known for its good quality pharmaceutical products which are affordable and adoptable to African nations,” Atejioye explained. He described the deal as pivotal not only for bringing these products to Namibia but also for distributing them to neighboring countries, particularly landlocked nations.

The Indonesia-Africa Forum, which began on September 1, focused on “The Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2063,” and saw representation from 29 African countries. Atejioye highlighted that the products, including natural ginger tea and less carbonated energy drinks, will be available in Namibia by January 2025. He also expressed hopes to eventually establish manufacturing plants in Namibia for these products, aiming to transfer technology and boost local job creation. “We are looking at transferring the technology to Namibia in an effort to alleviate poverty through job creation and make Namibia the main exporter of these products,” he stated.

Yulia Hidayat, General Manager of the International Division at Mensa Group, affirmed that the products are well-suited to the Namibian climate and noted that the company already operates in seven West African countries.
