ONIIPA: In a disturbing incident in the Oniipa constituency, Oshikoto Region, a 21-year-old man, working as a domestic worker, has been accused of raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl, according to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol). The case, highlighting serious allegations of sexual abuse, was reported to local authorities this week. The victim, a Grade 8 student at a local school, was reportedly living in the same house as the suspect. 'It is alleged that the suspect had sexual intercourse with the victim on several occasions,' reported Neels. He further alleged that the suspect had provided the victim with money in exchange for sex and had warned her against revealing their interactions. The situation came to light on October 8, 2024, when the victim's mother, upon s uspecting the changes in her daughter's behavior, checked the health passport and discovered the hospital visit dated September 21, 2024, where the victim was confirmed to be pregnant. The mother immediately reported the matter to the police the following Monday.
