Windhoek: Namibia has been ranked as the fourth safest country in Africa to visit by Altezza Travel, a destination management company headquartered in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. The country is recognized for its political stability, peaceful environment, and well-developed tourism industry. Mauritius took the top spot in the rankings, followed by Ghana in second place and Zambia in third.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Ministry of Environment Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) emphasized in a media statement that the ranking underscores the peaceful nature of Namibians and the collective efforts to maintain peace and stability. The peaceful transition of power between the nation’s three Presidents was highlighted as a significant factor contributing to the favorable ranking.

The Ministry applauded the Namibian people, security clusters, law enforcement agencies, and all stakeholders for their commitment to fostering law and order. Despite being ranked fourth, the Ministry expressed confidence in Namibia’s potential to become the safest country in Africa. It stressed the importance of continuing to prioritize peace and stability to attract both tourists and investors, which are essential for economic development.

The Ministry also urged citizens to collaborate in protecting natural resources, enhancing safety for both local and international visitors, and striving to achieve the top ranking in the near future. The rankings by Altezza Travel were developed by reviewing leading global studies, official statistics, and citizens’ perceptions of personal safety.
