Ouagadougou: The process of establishing the national youth council is on the agenda for discussions in Boulsa. The High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, presided on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 in Boulsa, over a meeting dedicated to the process of setting up the bodies of the National Consultative Youth Council of Burkina Faso (CNCJ-BF), before officially launching the calls for applications for the consultative bodies of the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting allowed leaders of youth associations and organizations to familiarize themselves with the procedures for appointing members of the municipal youth advisory councils and the provincial youth advisory council. On this occasion, the provincial director of Sports, Youth and Employment, Pendwend© Joseph Sawadogo, presented the content of the individual information sheet as well as the mandate of the association, two essential documents in the candidate selection process.

The discussions focused on the compliance of associations with Law No. 011-2025 of July 17, 2025, the conditions for signing mandates in the absence of officers, the age range of candidates (15 to 35 years), the procedures for appointing municipal and provincial executive committees, and the number of mandates an association can issue. Responses were provided to the various concerns raised by the participants.

At the conclusion of the proceedings, the High Commissioner declared the calls for applications open for the municipal youth advisory councils and for the Namentenga Provincial Youth Advisory Council. He invited the heads of the associations to appoint competent and committed representatives, while ensuring better representation of young girls. "Choosing your representatives based on favoritism can be detrimental to the province. Nominate candidates who meet your expectations while also involving girls," urged Mr. Conseiga.

According to the established timetable, the municipalities have until July 22, 2026 to receive and examine the mandates of the various associations in order to appoint the presidents of the municipal youth advisory councils and the members of their executive offices. The conclusions of the eight communes of the province must be transmitted to the High Commission no later than July 23, before being sent to the governorate of the Kouls© region for the continuation of the process.
