Namentenga: The president of the cell of teachers and supervisors of the Catholic church of Boulsa, Denis Ouiya, invited candidates for school exams on Friday, May 1, 2026, to arm themselves with courage and self-denial in order to meet the challenges, following the proclamation of the results of the mock exams, which were judged overall to be unsatisfactory.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Ouiya emphasized that it is not too late for students to improve, urging them to intensify their personal efforts as they approach the official examinations for the Primary School Certificate (CEP), the Junior High School Certificate (BEPC), and the Baccalaureate. He expressed concern over the results, urging candidates to demonstrate greater discipline and limit excessive use of mobile phones.
The mock exams, held on March 23, 2026, in Boulsa, showed varied performance. In the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam, 237 out of 440 candidates passed, marking a success rate of 53.37%. For the Brevet d'etudes du premier cycle (BEPC), 44 candidates were admitted out of 271, with a success rate of 16.23%, and 139 are eligible for the second round. In the Baccalaureate, Series A saw 13 out of 18 candidates pass (72.22%), with 4 eligible for the second round, while in Series D, 9 out of 89 candidates passed (10.11%), with 16 eligible for the second round.
Despite the absence of major disruptions during the school year in Boulsa, the results were seen as a reflection of inadequate personal investment by some students. However, Mr. Ouiya commended the commitment of the cell members and the support of education partners, who contributed to the smooth administration of the tests.
