Namentenga: The students of Boulsa went on an immersion trip this Tuesday to the canton chief, His Majesty Naaba Sonr©, to familiarize themselves with the traditional practices of marriage and burial in the royal court.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after explaining to the students through a dramatization the process of greeting a chief, the Dapor© Naaba, a living human treasure, emphasized that traditional activities in the kingdom take place from the beginning to the end of the harvest. He also taught the ancient practices to follow for a traditional wedding and the burial of a deceased person.
The deceased's families prepared only dolo for the occasion, and daughters-in-law, to receive their husbands' delegations, prepared special dishes for the occasion. The S©logo Naaba of Boulsa invited the students to make a pilgrimage to the graves of their ancestors in K©og Yaogo, a town located about 7 km west of Boulsa.
The chief of the Boulsa canton took the opportunity to offer a boubou, the Kobre y©ll©gr©, to the high commissioner of the province. "It is to encourage people who have distinguished themselves through their good works," declared His Majesty.
