Namentenga Hosts Successful 9th Football Holiday Camp for Youth

BOULSA – The 9th edition of the Football Holiday Camp concluded on August 3 in Boulsa, Namentenga province, with a ceremony led by the High Commissioner Adama Conseiga. The camp, which attracted 106 young participants, focused on developing football skills and promoting patriotism among children aged 3 to 15.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of sports and leisure, the camp aimed to constructively engage children during their vacation month through the medium of football. The closing ceremony featured a demonstration by the campers showcasing their newly acquired football skills and the distribution of certificates and school bags. The camp’s sponsorship came from the command of the Guépard unit, whose representative emphasized discussions on patriotism with the children.

The High Commissioner praised the performance of the young participants and acknowledged the efforts of the technical staff and the sponsor in nurturing these budding talents. Conseiga expressed hope that these young athletes would elevate the standards of provincial football and called for the establishment of a dedicated football and training center in Boulsa. He also took the opportunity to honor the defense forces committed to maintaining peace and protecting Burkina Faso’s territory.
