Namentenga Adopts District Health Development Plans


NAMENTENGA – The District Health Councils of Boulsa and Tougouri, located in Namentenga province, have formally adopted health development plans for their respective districts. This decision was reached during their second session held on January 19, 2024, in Boulsa.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the session, presided over by the High Commissioner of Namentenga province, Adama Conseiga, marked a significant step in local health initiatives. The Boulsa health district has outlined an ambitious plan, entailing 162 activities, with a budget of 11 billion CFA francs. These activities are aimed at enhancing the overall health of the population within the district.



Meanwhile, the Tougouri health district is in the process of finalizing its own District Health Development Plan (PDSD). They anticipate completing this process by their next assessment meeting. Notably, the sessions for both districts were conducted simultaneously in Boulsa, allowing for a comprehensive review and presentation of each district’s PDSD.



The meeting also acknowledged the reopening of two health centers in Yalgo. Members of the councils made various suggestions to improve health services. These included ensuring the availability of technical financing files for upcoming investments, promoting the active involvement of community members, and encouraging the establishment of nutritious gardens.



High Commissioner Adama Conseiga commended the districts for their progress and resilience, particularly in the face of challenging circumstances. He emphasized the importance of continued efforts and dedication, stating his belief in an impending victory over the challenges faced by the people of Namentenga.
