Ziro: In Naliessan, parents are building a new three-classroom school building with the support of the town hall. Naliessan Primary School, located in the Basic Education District (CEB) of Sapouy, recently acquired a brand new building with three classrooms, thanks to a joint effort by the Parents’ Association (APE) office and the Sapouy town hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this ambitious project, carried out without external support, was welcomed by the local education authorities during the reception ceremony which took place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Indeed, the parents of students, through exemplary mobilization, financed the construction of a classroom, while the municipality took charge of the other two.

The town hall has also undertaken the renovation of the roof of an old building, thus significantly improving the learning environment for students. This infrastructure will help alleviate the overcrowding of existing classrooms and provide better study conditions.

Ziro Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education, Sidb©wendin Compaor©, accompanied by the head of the CEB of Sapouy, Camille Diasso, visited the new classrooms. He expressed his gratitude and encouragement to the APE office, led by Ousmane Kabor©, as well as to the teaching team led by Inoussa Yago.

Impressed by the initiative and the quality of the work, Mr. Compaor© announced that the new classrooms will be equipped with desks and benches to make them fully functional.

The ceremony brought together several stakeholders from the educational world, including officials from the Ziro DPEPPNF (National Education and Training Department), school principals, teachers, students, and parents. All praised this example of civic engagement, which demonstrates that with willpower and solidarity, concrete results can be achieved, even in small steps.
