Nakambe Artists Prepare for National Culture Week Finals in Koupela

Kourittenga: The regional directorate in charge of culture for Nakambe held a capacity-building workshop on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Koupela, for artists qualified for the final phase of the 2026 National Culture Week (SNC), scheduled for April 25, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso. The event was chaired by Fernand Wenceslas Ndo, Secretary General of the Kourittenga Province, representing the High Commissioner.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this capacity-building session brought together troupe leaders and representatives of artistic ensembles that had qualified for the final phase of the competition. Its primary aim was to improve their understanding of the rules governing artistic competitions, evaluation criteria, and the attitudes to adopt for successful participation in this major national cultural event.

On behalf of the participants, Jacky Lompo commended the regional directorate's initiative, stating that this meeting provided an important opportunity to better prepare competitors for the demands of the final phase. 'Our goal is clear: to reach the top, win prizes, and bring the trophy back to the Nakambe region. This training reinforces our commitment and determination to proudly represent our region,' he stated.

For his part, the regional director of Culture for Nakambe, Yacouba Diakite, praised the mobilization of the artists and troupe leaders. He urged them to demonstrate discipline, rigor, and commitment in order to honor the region at this 22nd edition of the SNC. 'You have already taken a significant step by reaching the final phase. It is now up to you to redouble your efforts to represent the Nakambe region with dignity and aim for the top spots,' advised Mr. Diakite.

The Secretary General of the Kourittenga province, Fernand Wenceslas Ndo, congratulated all the cultural stakeholders for their efforts since the qualifying rounds. He also encouraged them to maintain their momentum in order to achieve commendable results in Bobo-Dioulasso. 'Your qualification for the final phase is already a source of pride for the province and the region. We urge you to redouble your efforts to secure top rankings and proudly represent Nakambe at the 2026 National Cultural Week,' declared Fernand Wenceslas Ndo.

Through this initiative, the regional directorate in charge of culture for Nakambe intends to strengthen the technical and moral preparation of the artists to ensure a remarkable participation from the region at this major cultural event in Burkina Faso.
