Nairobi, Kenya – In a significant environmental effort, Nairobi County celebrated National Tree Planting Day with the planting of 110,000 trees. The event, led by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, brought together government officials, the private sector, and the public.

According to Kenya News Agency, spearheaded by the President, aiming to increase the nation’s tree cover from 12.1 percent to 30 percent by 2032. Speaking at Bomas Beat Forest in Langata Constituency, Koskei emphasized the need for a collective effort to meet this year’s county target of planting 1.1 million trees. He encouraged the use of the Jaza Miti App for tracking progress and highlighted the importance of nurturing the trees to maturity. The event symbolizes a cultural shift towards environmental stewardship and the long-term vision of a green economy.
