NAIROBI, Kenya — The Ministry of Gender, Culture, The Art and Heritage convened a Stakeholders Consultative Meeting on the Establishment of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Protection Centers on February 23, 2024, at the Dusit Princes Hotel Residences in Westlands, Nairobi. The session aimed to address the critical issue of gender-based violence in the region.
According to Kenya News Agency, who delivered the remarks on behalf of Ann Wang’ombe, Principal Secretary of the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, the meeting saw the participation of a diverse group of stakeholders. Representatives from the government, civil society organizations, the private sector, and development partners gathered to discuss the establishment of GBV protection centers, highlighting the collaborative effort to tackle this pervasive issue.
